The collection of the fossil plants in this paper was made chiefly by the present writer for 7 days from 18th. October in the autumn of 1955. The Upper Mesozoic rocks in the south area of the Ozika Peninsula, according to Koji TAKAHASHI, can be divided as following formations: [table] The Ayukawa formation, more than 250m in thickness, consists of slate in the lower and sandstone with thin layers of slate in the upper. The fossil plants are particularly abundant in the lower horizon. The geological age of the Ayukawa Formation was correlated the Wealden by Koji TAKAHASHI. (1) The writer collected 17 species of fossil plants, from a new locality and discovered 9 fossil plants which have not been reported from the Ayukawa Formation. (2) The flora of the Ayukawa Formation is similar to that of the Tetori series. (3) Although the Tetori series was limited the Jurassic by S. OISHI, it must belong from the Upper Jurassic to the Lower Cretaceous at the Hida Massif and the Ozika Peninsula. [table]
