The purposes of this article are to examine the factors of job searching by local Chinese university graduates and to analyze its mechanism empirically. We obtained the following conclusions: 1) major, the number of years students hope to work and the amount of money ready to spend for job searching, have an important impact on job searching behavior. Race, sex, places students come from, family register and demanding wage may affect students' job searching behaviors but are not statistically significant, 2) major, race, sex, and the number of years students hope to work will have a significant impact on starting pay, but the amount of money ready to spend for job searching and demanding wage may not have a significant impact on starting pay, 3) our questionnaire survey showed that many local university students are looking for jobs outside the province their university is located, number of students chose Shanghai and Beijing among various other places. Sex does not have any impact on students choice of location to work, major may make some impact on work location, and a large number of students chose Shanghai and Beijing as the location to work, 4) the questionnaire survey shows that university students' demand for new jobs is more realistic than before.
