• 17 years has been passed since the famous Tangshan earthquake which caused the terrible disaster to the mankind. Today Tangshan has been reconstructed into a developing city which has greater scale than that before earthquake. In the present paper, the experiences of post-earthquake restoration and reconstruction of Tangshan city after the Tangshan earthquake of 1976 were presented. In the paper, Tangshan's natural conditions and developing levels before earthquake, damages of Tangshan city during the earthquake, restoration and reconstruction of Tangshan city, as well as experiences and lessons from restoration of Tangshan city are presented.
