• Book of Poetry was the first anthology in China and was the only one that had been selected and edited by the writers more than 3000 years ago. We could take it as an encyclopedia. There were a lot of records about people's physical labor and production, marriages and funerals, offering sacrifices to gods or ancestors in ancient China in the Book of Poetry. There were also the records of many important historical incidents. Ichthyic culture took shape due to the developing of productive force. As the behavior pattern of people, ichthyic culture was embodied in material achievements, etiquette, intellectual civilizations and so on. This article announced ichthyic culture in Book of Poetry from the visual angles of fishery history, fishermen's habits, fishing gear and ichthyology. It also tried hard to explore a new road in research of ichthyic culture by the author.
