The purpose of this paper is to open up the possibilities of reconstructing Schiller's theory of aesthetic education. The paper begins by classifying the criticisms that have been made to Aesthetic Letters (On the Aesthetic Education of Man) into four categories. The first category proposes that the theory of Aesthetic Letters is full of inconsistencies. The second one puts forward the idea that the book is composed of the two different parts. The differences of opinion split his theory into two sections. The third category advocates that the theory of Aesthetic Letters is out of touch with the reality. Finally, the fourth one considers that the theory is an unfinished work since Schiller did not reach a conclusion. In this paper the theory of Aesthetic Letters is reconstructed by using Schiller's theory of Sublime (On the Sublime). Through the systematic analysis of his theory of Sublime, it is possible to open up new horizon for interpretation of Schiller's aesthetic educational theory.
