We propose three methods to compensate for the damaged images due to cardiac pulsation artifact in brain to improve the accuracy of orientation distribution function in Q-ball Imaging, with their performance compared using a simulation approach. The average reduction rates in ODF errors after applying the correction methods were 85.0%, 68.1%, and 81.3% when using the neighbor interpolation, the exclusion, and the symmetrical compensation methods, respectively. The proposed neighbor interpolation method may be a useful adjunct to QBI data processing for effective QBI-based tractography.
