The Engineering Test Satellite VIII "KIKU No. 8" (ETS-VIII) which has features that the world's biggest antenna and use of low frequency (S-band) had been launched in December 2006. Mobile communication support is one of the purposes of this satellite, and users can utilize a small and lightweight mobile terminal. On the other hand, wireless ad-hoc network which requires no infrastructural facilities has also been investigating as mobile support system. However, wireless ad-hoc network composed only of mobile terminals has no gateway, so it is hard to connect to exterior Internet. Hence, we had been proposed "completely" wireless network composed of satellite link, as a gateway, and wireless ad-hoc network so far. In this paper, the communication performance and quality of proposed network will be measured using ETS-VIII satellite. Experimental results show that wireless ad-hoc (multi-hop) gives large influence on performance.
