• Due to the natural and man-made causes, Korea has suffered by flood disasters annually, and it was necessary for saving lives and properties to establish the countermeasures. In the results of three years research, the DIA(Disaster Impact Assessment) program was executed at July of 1996. By this programs, the developer must construct flood mitigation facilities to reduce increased causes of flooding due to the development project. NIDP has been studied the "Preconsideration Regulation of Disaster Mitigation for Land Use and Development Planning" for preliminary checking systems in the urban planning and also studied design criteria of infiltration and storage facilities for reduction of man-made causes due to the development projects. After the researches, the ministry of government administration and home affairs (MOGAHA) will revise the DIA programs and introduce another regulation for flood mitigation.
