Research committee A "strategy on Disaster Mitigation for Citizen and Region" was organized and started from 2001. The objects this research committee was located on evaluation of regional capability and strategic measures related to disaster mitigation for citizen and regions advancing from the basis obtained in the former activities of committees A "Estimation of Damage and Emergency Response" and B "Self-supporting and Social-supporting for Disaster Victims". In this paper we would like to report the activities and tentative consideration on regional capability evaluation and strategic measures for disaster mitigation.
