This paper presents the results of a survey conducted in order to examine students' perspectives on their English proficiency, motivation for learning English, and expectations concerning the English classes offered by Takamatsu National College of Technology (TNCT). The results show that the students are eager to acquire English language skills, particularly speaking, listening, and writing abilities, as they believe these skills will be needed in the future. Moreover, these students are relatively positive towards various English teaching methods, such as small classes, remedial lessons, giving lessons in accordance with their English level, and so forth. The fact that the students are keen to make progress in their English abilities suggests that teachers should discuss possible changes in the English program at TNCT.
