2334 Effect of R-ratio on Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Silica-particulate-filled Epoxy Resin

Effect of R-ratio on fatigue crack growth behavior of epoxy resin reinforced with silica particle composite was investigated. The crack growth curve arranged by using ΔK showed clear R-ratio dependence of crack growth resistance: high R-ratio indicated lower crack growth resistance. However, the crack growth curve arranged by K_<max> showed almost one curve regardless of R-ratio. K_<max> seemed to be a controlling factor for crack growth of the present material, which was confirmed by fatigue fracture surface observation.
