Various characteristics of student evaluation on the curriculum have been analyzed on the basis of a questionnaire survey conducted on the students at the Department of International Studies of a certain university in Japan. 1. Students who indicated a degree of satisfaction in their studies in general education courses and specialized courses seem to show a greater eagerness to learn than those who indicated that they were dissatisfied. 2. In the case of the student groups who are satisfied with their personal achievements in the general-education subjects, the percentage of those who are satisfied with their achievements, in four other subjects including specialized subjects is also high. Thus, it is concluded that general-education subjects contain important factors that determine whether or not a student will be able to have a satisfactory university experience. 3. The survey indicates that, in the future, further efforts should be made to give more thorough individual guidance to the students in the dissatisfied group and also to improve the methods of classroom-teaching for such students.
