The paper discusses the experience gained using a videoconferencing network for real-time interactive teaching of surgery, with particular reference to the viewpoint of the teachers and students. The paper discusses the issues involved in encouraging interactivity between teachers and students, both locally and at remote sites, and y how the students' reluctance to speak out was overcome.
