The mechanical design education can provide diverse learning opportunities of the innovative design process for the entry-level of learners, both in the department of engineering and in professional/practical engineering of any industry. However due to the learning boundaries limited in mathematical and scientific problems, traditional mechanical design education programs have not successfully addressed creative design problem solving method in the product development processes. This missing link between the mechanical engineering and design can be achieved by the exploration of mechanical automata, which includes the innovative design process form the concept generation to the realization of design. In this paper, the authors describe the development guidelines, the education framework and the cases of new mechanical design education- EZ Automata and KineticFrame- program. This program is designed to provide effective pedagogy to study mechanical engineering for the art-based students.
