I studied a method and an idea in the music therapy of handicapped children, and I analyzed the approach of them, because I thought music therapy might give useful suggestions to music education for the handicapped children. I found what kind of approach of music therapy was effective for the handicapped children. The result of analyses of the process of music therapy practices shows that the ability requied for music therapists is similar to the ability required for music teachers teaching handicapped children. Therefore, I made teaching plans of the music classes for handicapped students in junior high school applying the method of music therapy, and gave classes according to the teaching plans in a junior high school. Music teachers should have the ability to choose misic suitable for each of the students and for each scene. In addition, music teacher had better have the ability of improvisation to respond to student's reactions.
