This paper intends to be a reflective approximation to what "writing in the classroom" implies for both teachers and students. For many of our students, writing in Spanish means a difficult and not very interesting activity. In this paper I try to give some ideas about how to teach writing Spanish with Japanese students. Finally, it deals with the importance of linking needs, motivation and responsibility.
