This study was intended to develop the method to estimate CO_2 emissions through production to burning of the bioethanol-blended gasoline. The basic factors of gasoline components developed by METI, Japan were applied to estimate CO_2 emissions from bioethanol-blended gasoline products, and the CO_2 emission facter for bioethanol production was estimated in this study. One kfi of Japanese normal gasoline was estimated to emite 2.67tones of CO_2 (production : 0.31t-CO_2/k l, buring : 2.36t-CO_2/k l). In America, the present conventional gasoline contains bioethanol as the oxigenates, so that the one k l of the conventional gasoline was estimated to emit the lower number of 2.64t-CO_2 (production: 0.36t-CO_2/k l, burning: 2.28-CO_2/k l). Although the EU normal gasoline (e.g. France) contains ETBE synthesized from bioethanol and isobuten, the EU normal gasoline showed the highest CO_2 esmission rate of 2.85t-CO_2/k l (production: 0.35t-CO_2/k l, burning: 2.50t-CO_2/k l). These results indicated that the present estimation method was very useful to estimate CO_2 emissions for bioethanol-blended gasoline products with differnt compositions of gasoline components, and also that the composition of gasoline components was another key factor to effct CO_2 emissions rates through production to buring processes.
