The effect of color preference of clothes on points of value concerning purchase of clothing was investigated among 201 college students (89 males and 112 females). The questionnaire survey used the color code for the investigation of 117 colors together. As a result of factor analysis for the colors to be worn, five factors- "selfassertiveness", "innocuousness", "recommendation from others", "freedom", and "fashion preference" were extracted from the male survey results. From the female respondents, five factors - "self-assertiveness", "aesthetic sense", "moderation", "recommendation from others", and "fashion preference" were extracted. In addition, each factor score was calculated, and the relation to the points of value when clothes were bought by using those scores was analyzed. As aresult, items of value were color, design, size, and price in both males and females. It is thus considered that the male who values the price of clothes is a person with a strong fashion preference.
