In a beam transport system of an electron linear accelerator a problem of radiation corrosion occurs in particular at the beam deflecting and beam extracting part. Fundamental data on radiation corrosion are necessary for Al-alloys which are used as a vaccum material. The radiation damage on Al-alloy(A1050) due to 1.4×10^6 Gy irradiation of 60 MeV bremsstrahlung has bean investigated by XPS. It was confirmed that a SiO_2 film(6μm) is effective as a corrosion-resisting film for Al-alloys.
