As Japan entered the 21st century, it was said that it was an uncertain new age, with the country having experienced a long-term recession after the burst of the economic bubble and needing to face the new age of globalization. The changes in the environment that surrounded enterprises were intense, and in particular, the wave of corporate rationalization measures was carried out under the name of "restructuring," and they were applied throughout corporate Japan as a means of reviving unsuccessful enterprises. Thus, in such an age of change in the corporate environment, it became strategically necessary to establish a distinct corporate philosophy (or corporate principles). At the same time, market listing became possible on exchanges such as JASDAQ and Mothers, and companies were caught up in the effects of government deregulation policies-resulting in an economic surge and new market opportunities for venture capital. But in the fast - paced growth environment, some of the new venture companies did not measure up to the initial listing requirements. There are many examples of "window-dressing" events that have occurred in financial accounting statements, notably those of Livedoor Co., Ltd. Other debacles include the mass food poisoning case of Snow Brand Milk Products Co., Ltd., famous for its "Snow" brand products, the concealment and subsequent recall of truck tires produced by Mitsubishi Motors, and other cases, one involving a venture company recently. Today, the question to be posed is: "What exactly is the value of the enterprise"? And what is the meaning of "Corporate philosophy (or corporate principles)" when such events occur right before one's eyes? This paper will try to establish the parameters - the definition - of a venture company in various ways and to add a corporate aspect with respect to past requirements for a venture firm. Specific concepts and concrete examples are given concerning the establishment of a corporate philosophy (or corporate principles). In addition, this paper describes the efficacy of corporate philosophy and describes the importance of corporate principles from the viewpoint of Maslow's motivation in the "five desire stages." How to effectively construct a corporate philosophy is described, along with the measures necessary to establish a dynamic corporate philosophy for new venture companies.
