Taxonomy and Distribution of Alotanypus kuroberobustus comb. nov. (Insecta: Diptera: Chironomidae) from the Palaearctic Region

Zavrelimyia kuroberobusta Sasa and Okazawa, 1992 is transferred to the genus Alotanypus Roback, 1971 on the basis of the adult morphology. The adult male is redescribed, while the adult female and the immature forms, pupa and larva, are described for the first time. At present this is the only species of Alotanypus known from the Palaearctic Region.
