Of 325 women with urinary distress, E. coli was detected in their urine in 23%. The same serological type of E. coli in the uine was isolated from the rectal and urethral flora in almost all cases. In this series, 0.75, 018ab and 06 were predominant in all sites. The chemotherapy with ABPc might eradicate the organism in bladder urine, but did not eradicate rectal flora, although the serological types were changed.
