D-20 THERMAL ANALYSIS OF NANO BARIUM TITANATE SYNTHESIZED BY SLOW-RATE SOL-GEL PROCESS(Session: Nano)

Nano Barium Titanate [NBT] materials were synthesized by slow-rate sol-gel process for different compositions of Barium and Titanium precursors. The materials were identified by XRD pattern and it has been found that the materials are of polycrystalline phase with tetragonal structure. The crystallite size of 14 nm range was calculated by Scherrer formula for equal ratios of barium and titanium. The TG analyses of BT materials were studied. It was found that at low temperature there was a small amount of CO_2 absorption. When the temperature increases from 100℃ to 700℃ there was a minimum change in weight of the materials. The T_c of 111.8℃ has been obtained in the DTA analysis of the NBT materials for the equal composition of barium and titanium.
