TS-95 Lifetime Prediction of SN282 under Biaxial Stress State(Session D-4 Maintenance and Control 1)

Static fatigue lifetime of structural ceramics under biaxial stress state has been estimated and compared with experimental fatigue data. Biaxial static fatigue test was done by ring-on-ring test method at 1350℃ in the air. Lifetime was predicted on the basis of a Weibull multiaxial distribution function and subcritical crack growth, using the results of stress analyses by the finite element method. Lifetime was calculated as a function of fracture probability, P_f. The predicted lifetime envelope constructed by lines of P_f=1% and 99% covered the scattered experimental fatigue data. This results confirmed that the lifetime prediction conducted in this study is useful for the reliability analysis and assurance technology for designing ceramic components.
