The low density and high temperature mechanical properties of Titanium Aluminide (TiAl) alloys are very attractive for aerospace, industrial gas turbine and automobile applications. The manufacturing of TiA1 components are mainly developed in investment castings because of the less ductility and workability. And investment castings are suitable for near net shape manufacturing. The mechanical properties of TiA1 alloys are reviewed. Tensile properties from room temperature to high temperature up to 750℃, creep properties and fatigue properties are demonstrated. The chemical composition (Al, O2, etc.) and microstructure are believed as major factors. The investments casting process and typical melting methods are shown. Typical casting defects are investigated and the effect of melting parameters are significant. Typical material defects in TiA1 castings are mis-run which is lack of material, crack and shrinkage. Resent development for TiA1 components are introduced. Aerospace engines and gas turbine parts, blade, hardware parts casing, housing and automobile parts as turbo chargers are shown. Many examples and technical data of properties will provide more big potentiality for application of TiA1.
