• The availability of actual comparison data of Solar Centaur gas turbine type T-4502 as original design and T-4702 as the modified model, permitted a basic field study on gas turbine uprating by minor design modification of the front row of axial compressor rotor. The modified parameters are first identified and the two types of turbine are tested in the test cell to collect data. With common simplification in the calculation and idealization on the thermodynamic gas turbine operation parameters, semi empirical observation was developed. An early step to perform field prestudy to uprate selected existing gas turbine models have been achieved and will be presented and discussed.
