The newly developed hybrid type ceramic high-pressure stage rotor blades showed sufficient reliability in cold spin tests carried out at room temperature in vacuo ; the average burst speed of these blades was 162% of the rated speed which corresponded to 262% in stress ratio to the stress at the rated speed. The calculated burst strength, assuming the effective volume, Ve=10mm^3, was 790MPa, nearly matching the average flexural strength of the test pieces cut out from the blades.
