In this paper, liquid sprays formed by swirl atomizers have been studied by holographic technique. The experiments were conducted for the spray in a co-flowing uniform airstream for different cases, from which the droplet size distribution, droplet velocity, droplet flying angle and their spatial distributions were obtained. The experimental results revealed the physical variation of the spray characteristics with atomizing pressure, gas velocity and atomizer diameter and provided useful data for spray calculation.
