The gas turbine engine is a complex assembly of a number of rotating and stationary components, each with its own performance characteristics. These components are developed as separate entities by the specialist groups, and their performance maps are usually available to the designer. The skill of the engine designer is to select components with matching characteristics to achieve the specified performance of the complete engine for a particular application. This paper is intended to be a design aid and it describes a simple method to simulate a turbojet engine by modeling each component. The stationary components have been modeled analytically and the rotating components by using experimental data. Although comparison between the predicted and measured performances is good, further validation of the program is necessary in order to gain confidence in its reliability.
