An experimental study was conducted on the heat transfer characteristics inside a rotating serpentine flow passage. The local heat transfer coefficients along the flow on the four sidewalls of the square cross-section passage were determined. Varying the flow rate, rotational speed and heat input, the effects of Reynolds number, Rotation number and Rayleigh number were determined. It was revealed that the flow and the local heat transfer characteristics in rotating passages are strongly affected by the Coriolis and buoyancy forces in the centrifugal acceleration field.
