The present paper is concerned with heat transfer to single impinging jet. Experiments are conducted to determine local heat transfer characteristics by using a composite of a metallic heater sheet and cholesteric liquid crystals for single circular jet impingement cooling with or without crossflow. Contours of constant temperature in liquid crystal are obtained. Results of experiment show that the impingement cooling Nusselt numbers of double peak values increase with increasing Reynolds numbers of jet. And the model of a moving cylindrical source is used to make a simulation analysis for single circular jet impingement heat transfer.
