A twelve-stage high-pressure ratio axial flow compressor for industrial gas turbines has been designed, manufactured and tested. In this paper, the aerodynamic and mechanical features of the compressor design, its test facility, instrumentation and test results are described. Especially, the compressor performance, in various modes of operation, its rotating stall characteristcs, and rotor and blade vibration are discussed.
