The purpose of the present paper is to investigate the steady and the unsteady flows through subsonic and transonic turbine cascades by using the Euler and the Navier-Stokes (N-S) solvers developed by the authors. By using the fundamental equations of contravariant velocity components which also have been proposed by the authors, it is very convenient to treat several kinds of the boundary conditions. Furthermore, some efficient numerical schemes for the unsteady calculation, the shock capturing and the turbulent quantities are also developed. By applying these techniques, we can calculate considerably complex flows such as the transonic and the supersonic, compressor and turbine cascade flows having strong shock waves and occurring their induced boundary layer separations. In this paper, we show the numerical results of some turbine cascade flows by assuming the flows to be inviscid or viscous (turbulent) and steady or unsteady. The results are compared with each other and the experimental data. Finally, the reliability and the limitation of the present numerical solvers on the turbine cascade cases are discussed.
