To cope with the tightening regulation for exhaust gas emission and to satisfy the demand for saving the energy, it is necessary to improve the combustion process in cylinder and to trap or dissolve the emission after engines. And it is the first essential to supply sufficient air to engines. If it is not allowable to derate the specific power of engines under these conditions, turbocharging is the most useful method. It will be expected to develop turbochargers with higher efficiency and more effective turbocharging system to deduce the full performance of the turbocharger. It is the authors' pleasure this paper will be of help to develop the turbocharged engine with higher performance.
