Tokyo Electric Power Co. Inc., and Hitachi Ltd. have been developing the 1st stage ceramic rotor blade for a 20MW class gas turbine with turbine inlet temperature 1300℃. In gas turbine elements, rotor blades which are subjected to centrifugal forces need higher reliabilities than other elements. This paper introduces the newly proposed concept of hybrid-type ceramic blade structures consisting of ceramic blade and metal disc and the results of component tests of three types of ceramic blade structure. The test results show the good reliabilities against centrifugal stress and thermal stress by adopting the structure in which ceramic blade is directly attached to metal disc with metal pads.
