From the viewpoint of applying a high-strength PM Ni-base superalloy of AF115 to turbine disks, the mechanical properties required of a turbine disk material were investigated. PM AF115 was found to be especially suitable for a turbine disk to be operated at comparatively high temperatures because the stress rupture strength is much superior to other alloys including conventional wrought alloys and representative PM alloys such as IN100M and Rene 95. The FCPR of the AF115 also surpassed those of other PM alloys in the stress intensity range less than 20MPa√<m>, although the FCPR was primarily influenced by the grain size. The LCF is greatly influenced by manufacturing-process parameters such as powder size or the process itself. The as-HIPed AF115 was applied to a turbine blisk for a stationary gas turbine by developing a new nearnet-shape technology.
