Ultrasonic vibration efficiently atomizes liquid fuel into fine spray having a low detaching momentum and narrow droplet size distribution. The droplets can be well dispersed in an air flow by creating swirling and turbulent motions around the atomizer. Three combustor models, two for high-load and one for medium-load combustion, were designed, which combusted liquid fuel satisfactorily.
