Velocity measurements were obtained by laser Doppler anemometry for the turbulent isothermal flow in a premixing gas-turbine combustor. The mixing process was examined by changing the seeding conditions. The dilution jet was bent by the swirling flow and the tangential velocity increased, so that the penetration of the dilution jet did not reach the centerline. The comparison between the experimental results and the calculated results show that the standard and the Richardson-number-corrected k-ε models are inappropriate in the flow field where the jets interfere with the swirling flow. Detailed measurement near the dilution port is greatly required to understand the flow field and develop the prediction procedure.
