Recent development of industrial X-ray computed tomography is overviewed and the applications to nondestructive testing are also discussed. The third generation X-ray CT scanner having medium energy achieved high speed imaging and high resolution, which detectability in ceramics was φ200μm for void and 20μm in thickness for cracks. Another characteristics is the sensitivity to density difference of materials, in which 1% difference is detectable. The application field of X-ray CT scanner are widely ranged to industries of machine, electronics, automobiles, food and others, and it is hopeful tool for NDT of gas turbine components.
