An experimental investigation of the influence of blade dihedral on the secondary flow in a two dimensional NACA-65 series compressor cascade is performed. Two inlet boundary layer thicknesses are used on the end walls and comparisons are made up to 35° dihedral at near nominal incidence angle. A large influence on losses and loss distribution is observed, flow turning is mainly affected in the spanwise distribution. The acute angle between the blade suction surface and end wall has a beneficial effect on the overall and secondary flow loss. The application of this acute angle on both sides in a rectilinear cascade did not provide the same improvements.
