Microstructure and properties of lithium and antimony modified potassium sodium niobate lead-free piezoelectric ceramics

(K_<0.52>Na_<0.48)_<1-x>Li_x (Nb_<1-x>Sb_x)O_3 lead-free ceramics were prepared by solid state reaction and the electrical properties of the ceramics were characterized. The crystalline phases and microstructure of the ceramics exhibit much dependence on the content of x, and the orthorhombic and tetragonal phases of the samples coexisted in the composition range of 0.04 ≤ x ≤ 0.05 at room temperature. The ceramics with x = 0.05 show the better die-, piezo- and ferroelectric properties: piezoelectric constant d_<33> = 303 pC/N, planar electromechanical coupling coefficient k_p = 0.50, the relative dielectric constant K = 1228, syntonic impedance R_r = 66.1Ω, remnant polarization P_r= 31.2 μC/cm^2, and coercive field E_c = 0.770 kV/mm.
