As the above-mentioned experimental results prove, the blood congestion in one upper arm caused by a cuff(of about 65 mm Hg high in inner pressure) on the other arm, showed at the beginning a shortening in the first phase of blood coagulation, and then in the second phase. In other words, some of the cases where the blood congestion was caused for 5 minutes, showed no effect in the total time duration of blood coagulation, in spite of a shortening in the first phase ; others showed no change in the second phase, but a shortening was evident in the first phase; and others showed a shortening in both the first and second phases. If the blood congestion continued for 10 minutes, a shortening was caused in all cases in both the first and second phases of blood coagulation. On the 10th minute after the release of the treatment, the time duration of blood coagulation was always restored to the value before the treatment. In cases where the blood congestion was caused for 5 minutes, the inclination of ascending branch of the blood coagulation curve sometimes decreased and sometimes increased. But in those where the congestion was caused for 10 minutes, the inclination of the ascending branch increased. In all the 12 cases, on the 10th minute after the release of the treatment, the inclination of the ascending branch was restored almost to the grade before the treatment.
