Vibrations of a rotating circular membrane under distributed load are investigated. Bending stiffness is ignored and von Karman theory is applied to formulate equilibrium equations and vibration equation around the equilibrium states. The equations are numerically solved taking account of buckling and vibration modes are obtained. The result is shown to be consistent with vibration modes of a spring-mass system which simulates elasticity of membrane. An experiment of a rotating circular membrane under gravity in vacuum is carried out and a vibration mode is found to agree with the vibrations observed when high rotation frequencies.
