In order to meet the demand for ever higher pressure ratio of turbocharger, new compressor impeller has been devised to have high efficiency at high pressure ratio, and enough reliability. As for the turbine, wide-chord turbine blade was developed for high pressure ratio application. And variable geometry turbocharger have been operated successfully for 5 years.
