In August 2003 the ballast settled by the heavy rain in the line in Tokyo Chiyoda Ward, and the crushed stone replaced 36m^3. In October 2004 the roadbed caved in nearby the earth-retaining structure by the typhoon, therefore, the soil-improvement carried out in February 2005. However, in October 2005 the ballast settled again. It supposed that the spot in question is soft roadbed section occurred the roadbed deformation repeatedly. In this connection, it confirmed that the effect of the soil-improvement was obtained by probing the surface wave. In the probe, it turned that the N. Value rose from 1 to 30 by the soil-improvement. Safety and stability transport carried out by checking structure stricter. This paper reports research on cause of roadbed deformation.
