In recent years, motion capture technology has been widely used in animation field and virtual reality field. We have some problems when we use a motion capture system. There is a limitation on the environment to use. In addition, the cost is expensive. Therefore, the reuse of motion capture data has been spread recently. In order to reuse motion capture data, we need to retrieve target motion capture data from huge motion capture database with keyword search. In this paper, we propose a similarity retrieval method that uses the feature of motion extracted from motion capture data. Our method extracts motion of human parts as the feature of motion, and retrieves similar motion in steps with feature in different levels of detail. Some experimental results show that the method retrieves target motion capture data efficiently.
