We propose an input system by using a web camera and fingertip's traces. The method uses only an inexpensive camera and fingertip's traces on an ordinary paper. In the method, it is the most important problem to judge whether the fingertip is drawing on the paper or not. To decide the moment when the fingertip leaves from the paper, we pay attention to the change of the speed of fingertip's traces. Then, we determine the detaching moment by two criteria. Applying the proposed method to many characters, we can get most of leaving moment surely.
