A wind tunnel of Gottingen type has been constructed at the Department of Physics of Ochanomizu University in 1955. The fan is driven by an electric motor of 5 HP. The test section is 50cm×50cm square and the maximum air speed is about 24m/sec. Experiments on the wake behind a triangular cylinder were carried out both in an open jet and in a closed chamber. Pressure distributions on the surface of the cylinder and velocity distributions in the wake were measured and Schlieren photographs of the flow round the cylinder were taken. The relations between the base pressure, the drag, and the extension of the wake were discussed on the basis of these results.
