GISを用いた沿岸域環境データベースの構築に関する研究

In the recent years various problems occur about natural environments of coastal zones, including loss of tidal flats, water quality deterioration, decline of inshore fishery catches, and so forth. For studing these problems various investigations such as the water quality, bottom sediment quality, and benthic organism have been conducted, and many of these data have been accumulated. It can hardly be said, however, that the accumulate data have been used fully to identify causes of the problems. The purpose of this study is to construct natural environmental database in the coastal zones using the Geographic Information System (GIS) based on the data provided from the various investigations around the new Kitakyushu Airport artificial island. The constructed database together with the GIS gives us a great tool to store, process and analyze data on the same platform, and to display analyzed results visually.
