In this paper I provided an analysis of superraising under the theory of multiple feature-checking advocated in Ura (1996, 2000a). Following Ura's (1998) idea about copy-raising, I hypothesized that the existence/absence of the language-particular rule, which inserts a pronominal copy in a checking position of an A-chain, determines the existence/absence of copyraising. It was demonstrated that the idea about the multiple feature-checking mediated by the EPP-feature of T in some languages, the idea which is possible if we adopt the theory of multiple feature checking, gives a natural account of the derivation of superraising. Moreover, I showed that this account of superraising is free from the problems that my former analysis of the phenomenon involved.
